The program called for resurfacing the exterior of this five story building with with durable cost effective materials that could resolve persistent water penetration issues that had existed for many years. Spectrum’s investigation of the existing building envelope revealed the original curtain wall system had deteriorated to the point that water was entering the building at nearly every material transition. Our design called for installing an insulated wall system over the existing curtain wall system along with repositioning the existing windows that had just recently been replaced in an attempt to fix the water issues. With careful attention to details and careful planning, we were able to resolve the water penetration.
